Abama Solidaria Padel Tournament
We welcomed almost 50 teams of doubles to raise funds for the Volunteer Firefighters of Guía de Isora, and the effort resulted in some €4,000 for the purchase of new equipment for the firefighters.
Beach cleanup
An unfortunate amount of plastics and other solid waste ends up in our oceans. This ongoing project takes us to the Playa de San Juan and Playa de Aguadulce beaches to help pick up trash and take it to designated waste facilities.
Protection of local wildlife
A project, in collaboration with the organization Rumbo Ziday, to educate our staff about the protection of the marine fauna and native birds of the Canary Islands, as well as establish protected breeding grounds at the resort.
La Palma
The eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma left many buildings destroyed and many people displaced. Abama Solidaria donated €2,000 to relief efforts on the island, and collected additional funds from contributions.
Orthopedic materials
The Social Services Department of Guía de Isora requested help for public homes for the elderly, including wheelchairs and shower chairs. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to contribute almost €2,500 worth of equipment.
Tablet donation
Donation of 82 tablets to the Government of Guía de Isora for their distribution by the Education Department for vulnerable children for their schooling.
Christmas campaigns
We collect funds at Christmas with 50% going towards the purchase of basic necessities for children, and the other 50% to the purchase of children’s toys for a variety of age ranges.
Pandemic necessities campaign
Abama Solidaria donated 2,700 kilos of food, 6,500 diapers and a variety of hygiene products to those most affected by the coronavirus crisis.
El Primer Viaje
Abama joined the “El Primer Viaje” initiative of the Cabildo de Tenerife, whose aim is to help protect local marine avian species, in particular the Cory’s shearwater (pardela cenicienta).
